Zelma Basha Salmeri Gallery
The Eddie Basha collection is not only impressive for its quality, but it is also enormous. This is a fantastic collection of Native American art and the place is so peaceful and calming just taking your time to thoroughly enjoy the sculptures, painting, jewelry, baskets. It is a donation-only museum.
Artwork, statues, and native baskets on display here have to be one of the finest collections in North America, AND IT IS FREE. You can tell this was a labor of love by Mr. Basha, and a TREASURE for the state he loved so much. There's a terrific balance of "cowboy" and Native American work, and many unique touches, such as a few cases of having the pencil sketch AND the finished painting hanging together. Don't miss this one.

Veterans Oasis Park
This park is beautifully laid out to mimic the solar system. Informative postings are along the route. Easy walking around a water feature. Great walking, running and biking trails. Looks of desert wildlife and birds. An Audubon Bird refuge.
Although it offers a limited distance for walks, you do get to climb a couple of hills overlooking nearby neighborhoods and farmland. The hillsides have a nice representation of desert shrubs, and the lake (encircled by a paved path) provides a cooling contrast on hot days. I've seen people fishing, but I don't know what they're catching.
